Literally
by Kelly Fischer
(The scene is a living room near a kitchen. Jason walks in to find Melissa crying on the couch. There are tissues everywhere.)
JASON
Honey, what’s wrong? Are you okay?
MELISSA
(sobbing) I went to the doctor today.
JASON
Oh my God, what did he say? What is it?
MELISSA
(blows nose) I have… I have…
JASON
What?
MELISSA
A sinus infection and bronchitis.
JASON
That’s it? Sweetie, it’ll go away. Why are you so upset?
MELISSA
I… I… am so thirsty.
JASON
Well, why don’t you get some juice out of the fridge?
MELISSA
Because… (she cries and points to her bottle of medicine.)
JASON
What? You can’t have anything to drink with this? (grabs bottle)
MELISSA
That’s not it. Look. (points at bottle)
JASON
What?
MELISSA
(grabs bottle from Jason) Right here. “Do not operate heavy machines
while on this medication.” (cries even more hysterically)
